Question #1
In the movie, Dave is the only innocent one that can be forgiven for his crimes. Dave has the ability to be forgiven because his rage he showed that drove him to murder stemmed from his childhood trauma of sexual abuse. Dave saw that other little boy being forced to do things to a known pedophile and lost control of himself. He did not kill anyone innocent. He did not kill someone without reason. Dave's only intention was to save people from "the wolf" because he was and still somewhat is that scared little boy who got away. Dave deserves to be forgiven for his sins. Jimmy, on the other hand, murders for selfish reasons. He murders "Just" Ray and tries to hide it by sending his family money monthly. Jimmy also murders Dave out of anger over a crime he has no proof that he committed. Dave would be considered the hero, while Jimmy is the antagonist. Sean also would be a villain of the story. He murdered Jimmy's daughter for absolutely no reason, leaving her dad and his brother devastated. Sean ultimately caused Jimmy's second known murder since he did not come fourth to the crime, waiting until it was too late for Dave's fate. Sean is probably the worst out of anyone, killing an innocent girl as a joke. Anyone who murders someone in cold blood is deemed damnation, where as someone such as Dave whom committed a crime that was seen as a relief, is condemned.

I agree with you in saying Dave is the only one who deserves forgiveness and should have his innocence. He does kill the guy only because he is reminded of that dark time during his childhood. I agree that he is more deserving of forgiveness than Jimmy would be because he killed out of revenge. Dave didn't kill out of revenge, he wanted to save someone so that they didn't turn out like him or dead because of it.
